How an answer is made and checked

Every page on this site started as a recorded conversation with one practitioner and ended with that practitioner reading the page and saying yes.

1. The questions come from readers

Before the interview, we collect the questions people actually type into a search box about the topic, and we ask those, in those words. Not the questions a marketing department would ask.

2. The practitioner answers by voice

About twenty minutes, on their own phone or computer. A voice asks the questions; they talk the way they would to a client. Nothing is scripted and nothing is written by them.

3. The answer is written in their words

The recording becomes a plain-language page. Every quotation is theirs, verbatim from the recording. The page carries no facts the practitioner did not give, and no statistics or studies are added around them.

4. It is checked

Program facts, names, and numbers are read against public sources, which are listed on every page. What that means, exactly: we look for public documents that contradict what was said. It does not mean every sentence has been proven. The "last checked" date on each page says when this was done.

5. The practitioner approves it

They read the finished page, ask for any fix, and approve it. Nothing is published before that. Their name, credentials, business, and a way to reach them are on the page because they put them there.

6. Corrections happen in the open

If something on a page is wrong, tell us. We fix it, note the fix on the corrections page, and update the "last checked" date.

What money does and does not do here

No practitioner pays to be on this site, and nobody can pay to have an answer published or ranked. Practitioners are chosen because they answer real questions well. AISO Studio, which publishes this site, makes the software that does the recording, writing, and checking.
